Coalition for Better and Brighter Nigeria Women throughout the federation have organised a one day political rally and street procession in Jos the Plateau State capital to drum support for Peter Obi who will standing for Presidential election on the 25th of this month.
Leader of the CBBN women group Amb Victoria F Lot told newsmen at a procession rally in Jos that it was only Obi that have approached them for support and deserves the votes of the women at the Presidencial polls .
She demand 50 percent of Federal and states cabinet positions in the new governments to be constituted after 2023 general elections.
National Women leader of the group Amb Mrs Victoria F Lot told newsmen after the street procession from Jos Secretariat round about to old Airport round about under strict security cover, that CBBN women decided to embark on the rally and procession to drum home the message that they want to see a better Nigeria where they could secure good and quality education for their children, good hospitals,roads and security that will provide them opportunity to go to bed and sleep at night with their eyes closed.
Amb.Lot stressed that most importantly, they are seeking for women inclusion in Politics.
” As you can see during the recent party primaries, fewer women were able to scale through the party primaries and they were like 0.1percent”
According to her, ” As we are going to the polls, women are demanding that all the men that will emerge at the polls on the 25th February and March 11th general elections at the Presidential and Governorship elections should allocate 50 percent of their cabinet positions to women.
She added that the women in Nigeria are the majority and have the voting power than men, stressing that unless they are fairly treated, the women in the next election in four years time could decide not to give their votes freely to the menfolk.
According to her, women have alot to contribute in governance and prayed that the next set of leaders should be gender sensitive.
The Senate Committee on Defence Vice Chairman Senator ID Gyang has advised Nigerians to take the forthcoming general elections seriously by voting credible candidates with credibility into positions of responsibility in government.
Senator Gyang. stated this at his 60th birthday celebrations and Church Thanksgiving held at Church of Christ in Nations Bethel,Rawuru Fan district of Barkin-Ladi LGA of Plateau state at the weekend.
According to him, Nigerians have gone through alot of hardship in recent years and wished that voters should take critical decision in deciding who becomes the next President after President, Mohammadu Buhari.
Senator Gyang said God has been so faithful to him and his family, stressing that from the humble background, God took him through life in the civil service to become Permanent Secretary and later joined politics to become member House of Reps and currently Senator representing Plateau North at National Assembly.
He added that in all his years in government, he discovered that unless the leader is wise enough, the leader could be misled by those at the corridors of power into doing what is wrong,
He however added that with right advisers, the leader would provide good governance that will make life meaningful to the people.
.He Commended Plateau two former Governors Senators Joshua Dariye and Senator Jonah Jang for their mentorship and opportunity given to him to service under them in the state security council while they were governing the state.
In his sermon at the Church Thanksgiving Church Service, President Church of Christ in Nations(COCIN) Rev Dr Amos Mohzo Commended Senator Gyang for remembering what God has done for him and returning thanks to God as he turns 60. Rev Mohzo urged Plateau political leaders and the elite to leave good legacies behind so that when they are out of power, people could remember them for their good deeds. A Book written by Senator Gyang was launched at the event. Plateau monarchs, Party chieftains and well wishers from all walks of Life attended the memorable event.
Wife of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar Mrs Amina Titi Abubakar has urged the people of Plateau state to massively turn out on the 25th of February this month to vote for her husband former Vice President Atiku Abubakar during the Presidential election.
Mrs Abubakar made this call on Friday in Jos during a Pro Atiku Women stakeholders rally organised by Northern Christian Women coalition .
According to her, Plateau is home to the Peoples Democratic Party and urged the Plateau women to work hard to deliver Plateau from top to bottom at the polls during the general elections.
She stressed that Plateau Women and children have suffered untold hardship in recent years due to insecurity and promised that if her husband wins the Presidential polls and comes on board as President of this country by the grace of God, he would tackle the cases of insecurity headlong .
She added that her husband has convernant with the people of Nigeria and assured that her husband would match word with action.
She added that Atiku has done it before when he was in the Villa under Obasanjo as his Vice President.
According to her, Atiku headed economic team that brought people like Kaduna Governor ElRufai, Ribadu and several others into the economic team that turns around the economy.
She told her audience that her husband knows the road and if given the opportunity to provide leadership for Nigeria, he would make life better for Nigerians with sound economic policies.
She added that Atiku would provide micro credit for the women and also provide the Nigerian youths with 10billion dollars that will used to set up industries that will provide the youths with employable jobs
Amina Titi Abubakar promised Plateau women that if she becomes the first Lady of Nigeria, she will not let the women down, promising that she was going to set up a pet project that will cater for the needs of Nigeria women, Youths and children in Nigeria.
Leaders of Northern Christian Women coalition on their part, Commended the wife of Atiku Abubakar for honoring their invitation, promising that the Northern Christian Women coalition are mobilizing the women to vote massively for PDP from top to bottom in the forthcoming general elections.
Qua’an-Pan Local Government Council of Plateau State, under the leadership of Hon. Ernest Abner Da’a has kicked off a 6-Day Free Medical Outreach in 5 designated towns within the Local Government Area, to last until February 5, 2023.
Declaring the exercise opened at the Flag Off ceremony at Pedong Clinic and Maternity Namu; amidst cheers from the people; the Council Chairman, Hon. Ernest Abner Da’a stated that the gesture was his Administration’s drive towards the provisions of social services to the densely populated rural areas, especially in the area of health care service delivery.
Hon. Ernest Abner Da’a, said it is the second time this Administration is providing such succour to the people, especially those who may not have the capacity to meet their health needs and obligations.
Da’a disclosed that during the first exercise in 2022, over 10,000 citizens benefited from the Free Comprehensive Medical and Surgical Services, saying that more people are expected to benefit from the exercise, because of the deliberate decision to decentralize the services to five centers, located at Kwalla, Kwande, Kwa, Doemak and in Namu districts.
He added that the decision to take the Outreach closer to the people was to ensure maximum benefits by the citizens.
“It is in realization of this, that the Local Government Council in collaboration with the Association of Resident Doctors, Plateau State Specialist Hospital, Jos, decided to hold this year’s Outreach in the 5 earmarked centers, holding from 8:00am to 4:00 pm each day. Citizens with any health challenge (s) are therefore encouraged to take advantage of the decentralization policy and patronize any of the centres, as 50 Doctors and other highly qualified medical personnel have been mobilized to meet all types of their health needs,” Da’a stated.
The Council Boss further explained, that the 5 medical facilities to host the Outreach are; the Cottage Hospital Kwalla; Peter Bawa and Anna Memorial Clinic, Kwande; Pedong Clinic and Maternity, Namu; the Primary Health Care Centre Kwa, while the outreach at the Primary Health Care Centre, Doemak, will strictly be for Eyes related problems, including surgeries and glasses.
The Executive Chairman informed that because of his Administration’s believe in the adage that “Health is Wealth,” the Council undertook several medical interventions in order to provide succor to the citizens, which included the completion of the construction work on the PHC Clinic at Kurgwi East Ward and the distribution of large quantities of Drugs and other Hospital equipments to the various PHC Clinics in the LGA, under the Drugs Revolving Scheme programme of the QP Project administration.
The Chairman said, the Council has been supportive to civil society and faith based organizations in their respective desire to provide amenities to the citizens.
He hinted that his Administration is currently disbursing the sum of 42million naira only (N2.1 million each to 20 rural communities) as contributions for different developmental projects.
Hon. Da’a expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Association of Resident Doctors, Plateau State Specialist Hospital, Jos, led by Dr. Joel Daboet for accepting to be part of the historic lives saving exercise and thanked the various health institutions for making available their facilities towards the success of the Outreach.
He commended Members of the Legislative Council, the Traditional Institution and the good people of Qua’an-Pan Local Government Area for all the supports and encouragements they have been giving to the Council.
The Head of medical team, which comprised of personnel indigenous to the LGA, Dr. Joel Daboer promised to do their best, and appealed for cooperation and understanding from the people. He informed that before the official flag off.
They undertook more than 10 major surgeries involving different ailments.
In his speech, the Long Jan of Namu Chiefdom, Engr. Dr. Safiyanu A. Magaji III, appreciated the kind gesture of Hon Ernest Abner Da’a led Administration for always identifying with the needy and for extending most of the LGA facilities to his domain.
He cited the building of Divisional Police Office, construction of bridges and taking proactive security measures within the Chiefdom, and assured that his people will continue to exhibit peaceful conducts.
Some of the patients expressed appreciation to the Local Government Council for the kind gesture and prayed to God to protect and lead the leadership to always put the people first.
The APC Chairman in the LGA, Hon. Kangmi Haruna Jibrin appreciated the Council for decentralizing the exercise, while both the LGC Supervisory Councillor for Health and Director of health Department admonished the bold steps taken, adding that the exercise is historic.
Dignitaries at the flag off included Members of the Legislative Council, led by Hon. Jonah Damar, Council Secretary, Hon. Godenaan Gideon Dashe, the Zonal Inspector (ZI), DPM, DFS, all Supervisory Councillors, APC faithful and a large number of citizens of the LGA, who thronged the venue to be attended to.
After the flag off in Namu, Hon Da’a later led his team to the other 4 Centres in Kwande, Kwalla, Doemak and Kwa, where they were met by appreciating members of the public.

Obi gave this assurance when his campaign train stormed Jos on Friday at Rwang Pam Stadium.

The Coation For Better and Brighter Nigeria has organised Women has organised a two days National Summit for 450 Women Leaders from across the states of the federation on how to raise funding for women contesting for elections in the 2023 general elections.
The National Women leader of the Coalition for Better and Brighter Nigeria, Amb. Victoria F Lot in her welcoming address at the CBBN Summit currently taking place at EBOMI Suites And Towers in Jos Tin City, said the summit is meant to train the women leaders of political parties and groups on funds raising and mobilisation of women to support fellow Women contesting elections in the 2023 general elections in Nigeria.
Amb. Lot noted that the women were also being trained on how to use electronic technology Bvas in voting for candidates of their choice during February and March elections.

Amb Lot also disclosed that 120 women groups across the states sent in representatives totalling 450 Women that are participating in the 2 days CBBN Women summit.
She Commended the national leader of CBBN Prophet Isa El-Buba for accommodating summit participants at EBOMI Suites and Towers for the two days women summit.
She added that after the training, those trained are expected to go straight into the grassroots and start mobilisation of women for the forth coming general elections.
Guest speaker at the summit Jennifer Sandra Chikan who presented a paper on funding for Women in election,said even though few women would be contesting the 2023 general elections in the country, women voters should rally round their be own to be voted into elective offices across the country.
She encouraged women to raise funding to support those ones running for elective positions to get into elective offices in government.
According to her, Women are the only ones that can adquately and articulately solve the problems of women.

Plateau state gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) iBarrister Caleb Muftwang, has assured people of his state that if elected, his administration will not witch-hunt its predecessors but focus on correcting the mistakes of the past through reforms.
Speaking with newsmen on Monday in Jos at Media Centre, Muftwang said his PDP-led administration in the state would reform the government processes in order to move the state forward.
“Let me say that, we are not coming in to witch hunt; we will not waste the precious mandate of our people on witch hunt. If there is a tradition of witch hunts in Plateau, we will break it.”
According to him, the people of his state should be rest assured that if elected, “we would reform government processes, and if we found out in the course of the reform that certain things had been done wrongly, we would ensure they are blocked and people should be able to correct the mistakes they have made in the past,” he said.
The front line gubernatorial candidate on the Plateau pointed out that since the PDP left power over seven years ago, Plateau State has lost its leadership, adding that the party is offering itself this time around to confront the myriad of problems confronting the state head-on.
He said, “We are capable and confident in our ability to provide the leadership that they want.” “We are more than ready; we would leave no stone unturned in the quest of achieving this.”
Barrister Muftwang, who posited that Plateau State is in debt to the tune of N200 billion, said with this debt, it is glaring that it is not going to be a tea party if elected but promised that the party would harness resources on the ground to move the state out of the woods.
“We are aware of the state of the Nigerian economy, Plateau inclusive, but this won’t deter us from using available resources to improve the lot of our people.”
Mutfwang stressed that they were going to look inward to be able to reposition our state.
“The leadership will make the environment conducive for investors to come in for genuine investment,” he said.
