North Central APC Forum urges Tinubu to pick Lalong as SGF

Okwuta Audu Jos.

Leaders and members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) under the aegis of the North Central APC Forum have called the President-elect, Bola Tinubu to pick Director General of his presidential campaign, governor Simon Lalong as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).

Speaking on behalf of the forum in Jos the Plateau State capital, the Chairman, Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, said since Governor Lalong, who is also the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, has done a lot for the APC, the emergence of Tinubu in the presidential election, the Northern region and the nation at large.

He said due to Lalong’s active support for the president-elect, Tinubu, many people in the North Central region and his hone state of Plateau have been casting aspersions on him and labeling him with all manners of names, but that Lalong stood his ground owning to his strong faith in the ability of the Tinubu/shettima ticket whom he has always said they will perform creditably well once elected.

Hence, he said, Lalong deserves a the position of SGF in order to strengthen the Tinubu administration which he so much believed in and worked tirelessly for his victory.

Besides, he said, Lalong has demonstrated that peace and unity, which is the bedrock of development, is achievable, as he has been able to restore peace in Plateau State by taking the state out of the dark days of ethno-religious violence.

Zazzaga said North Central APC Forum has initially canvassed for the emergence of the next President from the North Central zone and they routed for Lalong but it didn’t work out, and then later canvassed for him to selected as the running mate to Tinubu, but yet it never worked out.

Despite all that, he said, Lalong did not despair or got annoyed, but kept supporting the party to succeed, and also continue doing so until he was appointed as thebDirector General of the APC presidential campaign council.

He said a loyal party man like Lalong who has been tested and trusted deserves to serve in a strategic capacity like the position of the SGF so that upon the swearing in of Boka Tinubu and the taking off of the administration, the government begin to function maximally without delay as there is much work to be done.

Zazzaga urged the President elect to be focused in his decision-making, and not to allow sycophants and those who did not work for his victory come around him to distract him, saying he is assured that Tinubu will do well following his track record as then Lagos State Governor and his political sargarcity tactics over the years.

He called on all APC supporters to come out en mass across the country and vote all APC governorship and house of assembly candidates across the country this saturday, as the party still remains the party to beat and progressive in its policies.

He urged the youths to be law abiding during and after the election and ensure that they conduct themselves in a peaceful way so that the election will be violence-free and credible.

Nigeria Decides: Lalong has Successfully Delivered President- Elect Tinubu/ Vice Shetima At The Polls- Yakubu Dati

Attai Audu Jos

Chief of Staff to Governor Simon Lalong, the Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima APC Campaign Council, has expressed happiness that despite all odds, Làlong successfully delivered Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shetima, respectively as President-elect and Vice President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Dati in a statement issued to newsmen and made available to Kwararafa Reporters in Jos on Thursday, said the Director General Tinubu Presidential campaign council who led a 10,000 member strong workforce comprising of 70 vibrant Directorates was efficiently supported by a team of notable personalities like Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Hadiza Bala Usman as Deputy Directors coordinated by the workaholic James Abiodun Faleke and Christopher Tarka to secure the people’s mandate.

He added that the National Chairman of APC, Dr. Abdullahi Adamu and the National Working Committee of the party, also worked in unison with the campaign council to deliver the ticket.

“The undoubtedly free and fair elections however came with bits of surprises, where the key drivers of the campaign experienced minor setbacks in their strongholds of Lagos, Nassarawa, Kano, Kebbi, Katsina and Plateau States to make the victory possible”.

He however said notwithstanding, the team gave the opposition parties a bloody nose in the final tally resulting in the landslide victory for the APC.” Dati stressed

Dati stressed that the difference in campaign strategy was that while the opposition elements exploited the fragile sentiments of ethnic and religious fault lines to hoodwink some unsuspecting members of the public, the APC concentrated on issues that unite the country.

“Fortunately, a greater majority of voters saw through the divisive agenda of the opposition and voted rather for what is in the best interest of the country: that power shifts from the North to the Southern part of Nigeria to keep the country one.”

Dati revealed that It was Governor Lalong as Chairman of Northern States Governor’s Forum, who led his colleagues to insist that power must shift to the South for justice, fairness and national integration.

“With the emergence of the duo of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Sen Kashim Shetima as flagbearers of the APC however, the opposition saw what they thought was a loophole to exploit primordial sentiments but the APC quickly blocked that avenue by strategically appointing Gov Lalong as DG of its presidential campaign, a move which effectively doused the mischief of the opposition as it balanced the configuration in the top hierarchy of the campaign and cured the perceived religious imbalance of the APC ticket.”

Dati hinted that sensing imminent defeat on account of that, the opposition continued with divisive campaigns meant to confuse the public from the germane issue of power shift from North to South, but again, Nigerians saw through their deception and rejected them for a candidacy that enthrones national integration.

“With this, the familiar antics of the opposition parties to plunge the largest country in Africa into crisis by resorting to self help failed woefully while the imperative of peace and unity prevailed as championed by the ruling party held sway.”

Dati added that It was a beautiful sight thereafter as Govenor Lalong, the Director General of the campaign council led the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Vice President-elect, Senator Kassim Shetima, to receive their Certificates of Return from the electoral umpire, INEC, and later to Daura to present same to the Chairman of the APC Campaign Council and President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari.

“While the DG like other APC leaders of the winning party have accepted the temporary losses in their respective states as part of the hiccups of the game and have moved on, the opposition elements especially in Plateau, the homestead of Governor Lalong were busy gloating over this temporary setback, not minding the capacity of Governor Lalong to recover from such.

“Close followers of history will acknowledge that Governor Lalong has in the course of his political journey experienced such setbacks but have never kept him down as he typifies the aphorism ‘a good man cannot be kept down.’

He noted that was how Làlong survived an attempt to illegally remove him as Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly when he refused to impeach the then Governor Joshua Dariye and got detained in tow.

” He survived another attempt to recall him from the House of Assembly and instead defied the odds to bounce back and become a 2-time governor of Plateau state, Chairman of Northern Governors Forum and DG of his party’s Presidential campaign that has today, delivered the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Dati hinted that in spite of the fact that the former Governor of Plateau state he labored to protect in office is currently leading the onslaught against him, Gov Lalong is set to deliver Plateau in the next round of elections to the APC.

“The Governor’s sterling qualities and peaceful disposition is already working in his favour, as he projects the state to national preeminence in the next dispensation for the obvious benefits the state is bound to derive by being on the same page with the party at the center.”

Dati stressed that as the nation prepares for the governorship and House of Assembly elections on March 11, it has become imperative to advise that for Plateau State to remain in the mainstream of national politics, it is important the state sustains its alliance and cordial relationship with the Federal Government which was started by Governor Lalong, by strategically identifying with the ruling party at the national level.

“Such alliance will accelerate the needed development and serve the interest of the people of the state, who are in dire need of infrastructural and other socio-economic interventions, as the state can no longer afford the luxury of needless opposition.”

He advised the people of his state that for further progress, “let’s vote to maintain Plateau as an APC state due to the inherent benefits derivable from being in harmony with the center.” Dati stressed.

Prophet Isa El-Buba Calls for Cancellation Of Saturday Presidential Polls over Irregularities.

Attai Audu Jos

Coalition for Better and Brighter Nigeria(CBBN) has called for the cancellation of last Saturday Presidential election as it did not comply with 2022 Electoral Act as amended in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

El-Buba in an interview with newsmen at EBOMI Headquarters, said his group might be compelled to take their protest against the fraud that took place last Saturday to the INEC offices across the country to express their disappointment with poor conduct of the Polls by the National Electoral body (INEC) .

El-Buba noted that before the Saturday Polls was held, INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu publicly assured the Nigeria public and the International community that INEC had made adquate preparation for free and fair general election across the country but regretted the outcome of the polls that was fraught with irregularities..

El-Buba noted the last Saturday Presidential Polls exercise has left millions of Nigerians disappointed and disillusioned because of the unprofessional conduct of state and non-state actors that participated in the process.

He added that the Electoral Act was amended in 2022 for the electronic transmission of results after they are declared at the polling units and that Nigerians participated in this process with the belief that the use of technology and adherence to the agreed electronic transmission of results to INEC servers at polling units would ensure free, fair, and transparent election, but regretted that the opposite happened.

He alleged that INEC servers were shut down as Presidential elections could not be uploaded onto the INEC server. The Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) did not work as planned.

According to him, the failure has undoubtedly given room for manipulating the presidential results being announced by the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu at the Collation Centre in Abuja.

“These manipulations were carried out under the watchful eyes and connivance of security Agents at several polling units and INEC offices”.

“The decision of INEC to go ahead to announce these doctored results based on manufactured voting has defeated the efforts made by Nigerians to see that the Electoral Act was amended to allow for electronic transmission of results.

Global President of Group Prophet Isah El-Buba at a Press conference At EBOMI Headquarters demanded for fresh conduct of Presidential Polls in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act as amended.

He added that is disheartening that 24 hours after the elections was held across the country, INEC is still yet to upload the authentic results of the Presidential poll on its server. The excuse that the server is down is not tenable.

In vitro fertilization (IVF)Image

Askdr.Ken… Simplifying IVF

There has been a lot of misconceptions about Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART)
globally. These misconceptions have been on the basis of perceived complications, anti-natural
procedure, the believe that it is a risk factor for diseases like cancer, and that it could result in
miscarriages, ectopic pregnancies, increased stress and possible birth defects among other fears.
All of these fears associated with the procedure may or may not be real, as people are merely
driven by lack of proper understanding. As a consultant Gynecologist and a Reproductive
Biologist with over 16 years of experience, I am here to give you the accurate information on
Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) with focus on the IVF procedure. In this series, you
will truly understand what IVF entails and why it could be the best option for you if as a couple
you are finding it hard to conceive. That said, we start by understanding the concept itself.

What is IVF?

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a form of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) which
comprises of a series of procedures that help to ultimately achieve conception.

Here, mature eggs (oocyte) are collected (retrieved) from the ovaries, and the sperm of the male
partner is collected as well. These are mixed in a petri dish, in the lab, where fertilization occurs.
The embryo is cultured for few days and then transferred to the woman’s uterus where
implantation occurs, and pregnancy is achieved. The fate of the pregnancy is same like that of
any other pregnancy that occurs spontaneously (in the normal cycle). The only difference here is
that fertilization is aided and it occurred externally.

There are many reasons pregnancy may not occur spontaneously. From the problem of low or no
sperms, to complications of blocked fallopian tubes in the female, poor quality of eggs,
abnormalities with the womb, and a whole lot of problems. The IVF procedure stands in the gap
between these problems and the possibility of ever conceiving and bearing children.

The IVF treatment also finds importance in the condition of elimination of unfavorable genetic
traits. This happens when the parents are carriers of certain genetic traits which they do not want
their offspring to inherit. A prominent example is the sickle cell carrier gene. Here, an advanced
approach is adopted in editing the gene that will be responsible for the expression of these unfavorable traits in the embryo before implantation. Sex determination is also a key possibility
of the IVF treatment procedure.

Against popular belief systems people have built around IVF and Assisted Reproductive
Technology (ART) in general, the reality is, most of the problems of infertility find solutions
here.

I trust that you now have a grasp of what we are getting into. Join me in this ride as we try to
understand one of the greatest possibilities of the century in the field of human reproduction as
well as the processes involved, while clarifying the myths surrounding it.

Next week, we will look extensively at the medical condition that may imply that you and your
partner should consider IVF as the means to conception. This will be followed by subsequent
articles that explains the procedure and factors to be considered getting started. You don’t want
to miss out on this.

I look forward to seeing you in the next release. Stay fine, and always remember that conception
and child bearing is a possibility for everyone.

GENUINE PLATEAU COALITION FOR APC (GPCA)

PRESS STATEMENT

11-02-2023

2023 Elections: Why Dariye cannot be trusted

Few days ago, we had it on good authority that a former governor of Plateau state, Sen. Joshua Dariye, has been going about, trying to use the opportunity of his closeness to leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the national level, to solicit for funds, in the guise that he needs the resources to campaign and work for the success of the APC in the next general elections.

We learnt from reliable sources, that Dariye has gone very far in that regard and is only waiting to cash in while posing as a committed and genuine party leader in Plateau who needs to be supported to sell the APC and its candidates across board.

We however wish to let the leaders of our party and our supporters across the country know that succumbing to his wiles will be inimical to the chances of the party winning in the next general elections.

While on the surface, it appears like Sen Dariye is working for the APC, the former governor is one of those working strenuously behind the scenes to cripple, dismantle and destroy the party and it’s candidates.

Not only does the former governor not wish the APC and its candidates including our presidential candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim well in the next general elections, he has set machinery in motion to ensure that other candidates of the party in Plateau State are not returned.

It is an open secret to those of us who are the committed and genuine members of the APC in Plateau State that Dariye, who by the virtue of his position as a former governor should have been one of the leading lights of the party in the state, is also working in cahoots with candidates of other parties to bring down the APC.

The evidences are also contained in both what he has said and what he has done publicly against the interest of the party.

It is glaring that Dariye’s preferred candidate in the next presidential elections is Peter Obi of the Labour Party and not Asiwaju Tinubu, the Jagaban of Borgu, while his support for the next governor of Plateau State is the LP candidate, Dr. Patrick Dakum.

It is on record that the former governor had addressed Christian clerics shortly after the primaries and had told them that voting for APC candidates at any level is not just reprehensible but akin to crucifying Jesus Christ a second time!

As if that was not calumnious and damaging enough, the former governor in a recent public statement together with the LP governorship candidate in Plateau State also berated the Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima APC Presidential Campaign Council, Gov Simon Lalong and called him names for the efforts the governor is making in selling the APC presidential candidate and others in Plateau State.

Driven by hatred to Gov Lalong who as a true democrat, yielded to the popular wish of the people for Prof Nentawe Yilwada to emerge the Plateau APC governorship candidate through a transparent primary, Dariye has taken it personal that the Governor did not use his office to subvert the wishes of the people so that his preferred candidate , Dr. Dakum would have his way.

In total disregard to the human consideration of President Buhari’s efforts through Gov Lalong to secure his release from prison, Dariye is currently at the forefront exploiting the volatile sentiment of religion to instigate the people into viewing the APC presidential ticket as a Muslim/Muslim ticket just to demean the ticket and diminish the chances of the APC in the next elections.

We have to alert our party leaders and supporters about this due to the fact that Dariye even boasted that he’ll use cunny ways to get funding from the APC presidential candidate and his running mate while pretending to be supporting them and on receipt of such funds, would move hastily to dislodge the APC in his base and deliver Plateau to Labour Party.

Not only that, it has also been revealed that his further intention is to ensure that Gov Lalong not only fails to bring a successor from the APC but to make sure the Governor loses his Senatorial bid.

Despite the conspiracy, we wish to state that the people of Plateau are confident that given the record performance of the APC in Nigeria, it shall win not only at the presidential elections but even majority governorship seats and seats at the National Assembly as well.

The whole truth about the conspiracy going on on the Plateau will soon be revealed and we urge all our supporters to remain steadfast as victory is imminent.

Thank you.

Day of forgiveness: Lalong sets template for peaceful coexistence

By Yakubu Dati

As Gov Simon Bako Lalong storms the Centre stage to promote the Tinubu/Shettima APC presidential campaign at the national level, he has succeeded in extinguishing initial doubts being expressed about the likelihood that the high quality of governance which he is known for may suffer due to the demand of his responsibilities as Director General of the campaign council.

The governor has however kept proving over and over again that he is adept at multi tasking when it comes to providing good governance to his people and the nation as well.

Few days ago, the governor took time out from the grueling campaign trail to promote peaceful coexistence in his home state of Plateau by hosting what is now called the ‘Plateau Day and Day of Forgiveness and Reconciliation’ which has come to be celebrated annually since 2018 as part of efforts to sustain peace in the state.

The event which took place at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium Jos also marked the 47th anniversary of the creation of the State.

For Gov Lalong, the push to drive home one of the cardinal objectives of his administration which is to restore lasting peace in his state takes the cake as he understands that no development can take place in a rancorous atmosphere.

Recall that on assumption of office as Governor of Plateau State, Lalong resolved to restore the glory of the state in line with its popular slogan of ‘Home of Peace and Tourism’.

Having inherited a fractured state at the brink of collapse instigated by bloodthirsty warmongers who were exploiting the fault lines of ethnic and religious sensitivities, Gov Lalong initiated policies, programmes and an institutional framework to restore the state back to its lost glory.

Speaking on behalf of Plateau glorious stars, a former DG of the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA, Malam Yakubu Mohammed who was at the occasion, recalled his life while growing up in Jos and said the unfortunate events of the past have been detrimental to the image of the State but expressed delight that the Governor has done well to reverse the situation through inclusive leadership.

The former DG of NTA was not alone in preaching the message of peace as he was supported by various dignitaries who were at the occasion.

They include Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar who showered praises on Governor Lalong for his passion for peace and reconciliation which has restored calm and progress in Plateau State.

The Sultan said the initiatives put in place by the Governor have galvanised the entire state and brought together people who are no longer looking at one another with suspicion, bitterness and hatred.

Catholic Archbishop of Abuja Most Rev. Ignatius Kaigama on his part said he was happy that the initiative taken many years ago has fully been implemented by the Plateau State Government under the leadership of Governor Lalong.

The Gbong Gwom Jos, Da Jacob Gyang Buba urged the citizens to put the past behind them and look forward to a greater future while Catholic Archbishop of Jos Most Rev. Ishaya Audu appreciated the Plateau State Government for adhering to the yearnings of the people and doing the needful.

Other dignitaries at the occasion include Emir of Askira, Alh. Abdullahi Ibn Askirama II, Emir of Kano Aminu Ado Bayero, former Military Administrator of Plateau State Gen. Lawrence Onoja, former Governor Fidelis Tapgun, CAN General Secretary, PIDAN President, Chairman Inter religious Council Prof. Pandam Yamsat, who all commended the Governor for toeing the path of peace and ensuring that criminals are not allowed to operate with impunity while reconciliation is going on.

Gov Lalong on his part described the day as a forum to appeal to peoples’ conscience and embrace peace.

“Today, the deep-seated level of mutual distrust, suspicion and hate that once characterized social relations between people of different ethno-religious backgrounds across Plateau State has greatly reduced to the barest minimum. This is a result of the hours, days, months and years of work put in by the Plateau Peace Building Agency which we established backed by law, as well as the Inter-Religious Council that was also inaugurated with top leadership of the Christian and Muslim faiths deeply involved”.

The Governor explained that the Government has continued to remove the triggers for conflicts such as those related to farming and grazing and has sent a Bill to the State House of Assembly for the establishment of Ranching which will prohibit open grazing so as to tackle clashes between farmers and herders.

He then took a very significant step that will further guarantee peaceful coexistence in the state with his unveiling of the Gazette for the creation of New Districts and Chiefdoms in the state and the formal handing over of 32 schools established by voluntary organisations back to their original owners.

The occasion attracted advocates of religious, ethnic and traditional inclusion and elicited acclamations from a cross section that yearned for accommodation and inclusion in the scheme of things and the purely non-political occasion has been received with warmth.

It was meant to be devoid of politics, but it nonetheless provided political analysts the opportunity to express their opinions on the impact of the efforts of the Governor towards improving on the lot of the citizens in his state.

Consequently, the Governor has in several analyses of the event been eulogized as a leader with focus who does not forget his immediate responsibility even while answering a clarion call on behalf of the nation.

Political analysts quickly recall that as chairman of the Northern States Governors Forum, Lalong provided quality leadership to his colleague governors and at the same time served the state well with quality projects and good initiatives.

As the DG of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council, Gov Lalong is working round the clock to deliver on his mandate!

Plateau Labor party’s Cacophony.

By Sylvanus Namang

.

The All Progressives Congress in Plateau State has come across a press statement by the Labour Party’s hawkish mouthpiece, Shabul Mazadu who has earned the disreputation of hobnobbing with all the leading political parties in the state in search of stomach infrastructure.
In the so-called press release tagged ” IGNORE FICTITIOUS RUMOUR FROM THE DROWNING APC” he claimed that the All Progressives Congress in Plateau State has gone to town with news of its hyperactive gubernatorial candidate, Dr Patrick Dakum stepping down for the ever prepared for governance and focused gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe.
The APC would have ignored the cacophony of the fledging Labour Party in the state as mere kite flying by its panicky, separatist and opportunistic agents who have now realised that their principal has embarked on a journey to no specific destination but we need to put the records straight.
While we have refrained from joining issues with Dr atrick Dakum who jumped from the ship of collective bargain to obscurity, we advise that he should not allow his mostly fair weather followers to lead him to the precipice.
The APC acknowledges his contributions as one of its gubernatorial aspirants who left midway into the contest after realising that defeat was glaring.
He miscalculated as his newfound party in the state exists more on the social media and lays dangerous claims to religious purity, a belief which has evaporated into the tin air, hence the search for where next to go.
Dr Patrick Dakum moved to the Labour party in a controversial manner with a few tribal warlords and hero worshippers who are known for massaging the ego of whoever pays the piper and dictates the tune.
The APC is not and would not waste it time and energy on someone who on his own decided to leave for reasons best known to him. We cannot be intimidated by Dakum’s antecedents as claimed by Shabul.
The APC which has been threatened with baseless litigations which have all collapsed irretrievably as confirmed by the courts, has remained as one indivisible and indissoluble entity prepared to go into the general elections exactly two weeks ahead with full confidence.
We have from the Wase gubernatorial flag off a few days ago, reaped bountifully from genuine partners from the YPP following its gubernatorial candidate Engr Manji Gontori and its Wase House of Assembly Engr Hamza Haruna joining our fold with tens of thousands of their supporters.
We are going to have more purposeful partners join us as we role out our awesome campaign machinery to the Central and Northern Senatorial Districts next week.
We advise the Labour Party to leave the APC alone. If its gubernatorial candidate on his own volition is contemplating a return to the APC, he is welcome as a prodigal son would not be rejected by his father.

APC State Publicity Secretary
