Plateau state gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) iBarrister Caleb Muftwang, has assured people of his state that if elected, his administration will not witch-hunt its predecessors but focus on correcting the mistakes of the past through reforms.

Speaking with newsmen on Monday in Jos at Media Centre, Muftwang said his PDP-led administration in the state would reform the government processes in order to move the state forward.

“Let me say that, we are not coming in to witch hunt; we will not waste the precious mandate of our people on witch hunt. If there is a tradition of witch hunts in Plateau, we will break it.”

According to him, the people of his state should be rest assured that if elected, “we would reform government processes, and if we found out in the course of the reform that certain things had been done wrongly, we would ensure they are blocked and people should be able to correct the mistakes they have made in the past,” he said.

The front line gubernatorial candidate on the Plateau pointed out that since the PDP left power over seven years ago, Plateau State has lost its leadership, adding that the party is offering itself this time around to confront the myriad of problems confronting the state head-on.

He said, “We are capable and confident in our ability to provide the leadership that they want.” “We are more than ready; we would leave no stone unturned in the quest of achieving this.”

Barrister Muftwang, who posited that Plateau State is in debt to the tune of N200 billion, said with this debt, it is glaring that it is not going to be a tea party if elected but promised that the party would harness resources on the ground to move the state out of the woods.

“We are aware of the state of the Nigerian economy, Plateau inclusive, but this won’t deter us from using available resources to improve the lot of our people.”

Mutfwang stressed that they were going to look inward to be able to reposition our state.

“The leadership will make the environment conducive for investors to come in for genuine investment,” he said.
